The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) specifies a FIPS-approved cryptographic algorithm that can be used to protect electronic data. The AES algorithm is a symmetric block cipher that can encrypt (encipher) and decrypt (decipher) information. Encryption converts data to an unintelligible form called ciphertext; decrypting the ciphertext converts the data back into its original form, called plaintext.

CrypToGo is an application written in J2ME and all of the cryptographic algorithms and implementations are taken from the highly reliable library called ‘Bouncycastle’. The system employs Elliptical Curve Cryptography (ECC) based on a 192-bit prime. In layman terms, this simply means that the software provides a very high level of security that really is more than sufficient for secure communications.

This system can only operate if there are two handsets that have the system installed and have been paired by an encryption key. The CrypToGo application operates its own user address book, so that only selected / paired users can send secure SMS messages between handsets. Each time you pair with another selected CrypToGo system user, a fresh encryption code is generated that pairs the two handsets to each other and this encryption code is then used to encrypt / decrypt SMS communication between these two handsets only.

Once installed there are no hidden fees, subscriptions or ongoing costs to keep the system live. This system is ideally suited for use by lawyers, Police and government personnel, politicians, executives, VIP’s and in fact anyone who recognises the need for complete secure SMS communication.

Please Note: This system requires that more than one handset runs the CrypToGo application in order that handsets can be paired using a unique encryption key.
