This has to be probably one of the highest quality Point of View (POV) bullet camera HD systems that is available in the world today. POV camera systems are designed as wearable for various outdoor activities and provide rugged video capture systems for pursuits in the air, on water, snow or land on foot or on/in a vehicle.

Unlike any other wearable helmet POV camera system on the market the POV HD uses the latest Texas Instruments "Da-Vinci" microprocessor for encoding the video. This new chipset is considered to be ‘cutting edge’and is sophisticated enough to let the majority of the video processing be done by software instead of hardware. What this means is the POV.HD system has super advanced ‘real time’ video correction enabling features such as; enhanced picture sharpness, correction for wide angled (fish eye) distortion and most importantly a filter which virtually eliminates the "wobble vision" effect that can be seen on HD cameras that use a rolling shutter. The other advantage of having software controlled video processing is that free firmware upgrades will be available as new colour maps and image filters are improved.

This superb outdoor device is dust proof and waterproof down to a depth of 3m and that includes the supplied wireless RF remote controller. The lens in the camera is the widest available in any wearable camera system providing over 160 degrees field of view even in 1080p mode. The latest included firmware for the POV.HD enables a range of filming resolutions and frame rates. PAL users will be happy to hear the new POV.HD can shoot at 24, 25 or 30fps at 1080p and 50 or 60fps in 720p mode.

Tagging and pre-record modes have been included. This means that when you press the tag button on the remote controller, the unit goes back up to 10 mins and starts recording in the past. In a fast moving sporting situation you will never miss a moment again and you won't end up come back home with hours of boring, non-event video.

The rugged recorder incorporates an SD card recording system (Max. 32GB SDHC) and built-in 50mm LCD display screen so you can watch live or review what has been recorded. It can be powered from AA batteries or hard wired to the vehicle's 12v supply. The RF remote controller has nice big chunky buttons that can be operated with gloves on. The unit comes equipped with a cable mounted, monaural, omnidirectional microphone, providing exceptional sound, while filtering out excess wind noise and distortion. The kit is supplied with a variety of mounts to give incredible versatility. Finally, because the POV.HD makes MOV and MP4 recorded video files as standard, they are simple to edit on a PC or a MAC.
