| Spy Gadgets - From MI6 To Modern Day Reality |
|
In September 2010 MI6 opened up the old files to show the world some of the very early spy gadgets that were used by MI6 during the first 40 years of the establishment. Amongst the array of specialist spy gadgets were a matchbox that was in fact a very compact camera, a Spy Pen that in fact contained tear gas to disable an opponent and all manner of everyday objects with secret compartments to hide information or documentation that needed to be concealed to cross borders from one country to another. Whilst these items may seem, in today's world, a little antiquated, they were actually the forerunner for the modern day spy technology. Today's technological advances have ensured that what were previously described as ‘James Bond’s’ gadgets, have become a modern day reality. We only have to take a look at what is available on the Spy Equipment UK website to realise that 007 of yesteryear has arrived and in some circumstances even been surpassed. The microchip has fast-forwarded progress in communications though mobile phones and the Internet and as such this has paved the way for a massive array of new spy gadgets and spy products that are very easily and discreetly able to tap into this relatively new communications revolution. What’s more is that it is not only the security services that have a need to intercept communications, record, track and monitor. The Police, Private Investigators and Security Companies rely far ore on modern day spy gear than they would like to admit. Some would say that it is an intrusion, but in reality most steps taken are necessary to protect us all from the tyranny of terrorists and similar organisations. One thing is for sure. If the general public has access to what is perceived as the latest spy gadgets, then in reality you can be sure that MI6 is in fact several steps ahead in the development of ‘James Bond’s’ spy toys. |
