A simple push-button switch, discreetly concealed in the faux plant, handles turning the system on and off. For charging, footage transfer, and settings configuration, a magnetic port is cleverly hidden among the flowers. We supply a special magnetic USB connection lead to quickly offload captured footage to your computer. All video is recorded in the MP4 format, guaranteeing instant compatibility with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Is it possible to run the Decorative Plant Spy Camera from a mains supply?

It would look very odd to have a power cable coming out of the flower basket. As the mains lead connects via the port in the flowers on top, running the camera continuously from the mains supply isn’t really practical or feasible.

Which way does the camera face?

The spy camera is discreetly positioned within the basket weave on one specific side of the planter. You simply need to be mindful of which of the four sides holds the camera when you place the unit.

If somebody looked closely at the basket would they be able to tell that there was a camera system installed?

The camera is integrated between the basket’s weave to ensure an unobstructed view. Even up close, it is extremely tiny and difficult to spot, maintaining maximum discretion.

How do I watch back the video recordings?

Simply locate the magnetic connection port hidden in the flowers and use the supplied magnetic USB lead to connect the device to your computer. You can then access and play back the recorded files directly from the memory card.

Does playing back the files require any special software?

No specialist software is strictly needed, though some computers may require an updated media player. We recommend a free download of VLC Media Player to ensure you have no issues viewing the recordings.

Does this device record sound?

Yes, this device includes speech grade microphone built into this device. It is able to record voices and other sounds clearly within a reasonable distance.

Is it possible to download recorded footage or change camera setting using the WiFi Connection?

No, the short-range Wi-Fi is not designed for this purpose. Camera settings can only be adjusted by connecting the unit to a computer and using the supplied software widget.

Is the video recorded good enough to be able to recognise faces?

Absolutely. In all quality modes, but especially the high-quality setting, it is very easy to identify individuals in the footage, provided there is adequate light in the environment where the recording takes place.
