The spy camera battery pack is a rechargeable 12 volts DC self-contained lithium ion power pack. This unit can provide an external power supply for certain cameras and some DVR’s

Many of our camera systems are self contained with the camera and DVR both running from either mains or one battery supply built-in. There are, however some spy cameras that require a separate dedicated power supply and these cameras will generally be designed to accept a power feed of between 9 and 15 volts. If there is no mains adapter power option, then the Spy Camera Battery Pack is the perfect solution for powering these products.

For solely powering a camera (used in some bag camera systems), the power pack can remain active for up to 30 hours after a full charge. If also powering a DVR then an run time of around 10 hours is certainly achievable. This unit can also be used for powering other 12V systems, albeit they may require a different connector with which to mate with the unit to be powered.

The Spy Camera Battery Pack is supplied together with a mains charger and if fully discharged charging can take up to 6 hours.

    • 12V lithium ion rechargable battery pack for multiple applications
    • Ideal for powering some spy cameras and DVR’s that support external power
    • 6800 mAh capacity
    • CCTV 2.1 centre positive connector
    • Will provide continuous power to connected device for between 10 and 30 hours
    • Unit dimensions: 105 x 52 x 16mm
    • Supplied together with mains charger
    • Full recharge time of approximately 6 hours

Can this battery pack be used to supply external power to other items such as voice recorders and landline recorders?

No, because these other recorders need a 5 volt power supply, which of course is not the same.

Does the unit have a switch built in?

No, the battery pack does not need a switch, because it can be simply disconnected from the device that it is providing power to.

Can the battery be charged and still be used to provide power to a connected device at the same time?

This is not possible because the power output from the battery discontinues when connected for charging.

You will need to consider the following to use this product:

    • Not all spy cameras require a 12 Volt power feed. Many modern cameras only require a 3.7 or 5V power supply. Connecting a 12V supply to these could damage them.
    • Lithium ion batteries require some care. It is best that they are stored at room temperature and at about 40 percent charge capacity if they are not to be used for an extended period of time.
    • Avoid deep discharge of the battery meaning avoid running them until they appear completely dead. This should happen if used with a camera or DVR because when the voltage runs too low then you will not be able to power these devices with the battery anyway.
    • After 30 charges, you should allow lithium-ion batteries to almost completely discharge. Continuous partial discharges create a condition called digital memory.
