How do I listen to my recordings?

Playback is simple. Connect the device to the magnetic USB port of any Windows or Mac computer using the supplied magnetic cable. The computer will recognise it as a standard removable drive, allowing you to play the audio files through your normal media player.

Can I disable the voice activation for continuous recording?

No. To maximise battery life and storage efficiency, the Tissue Box Voice Recorder is permanently set to voice-activated mode. It will only record when sound is detected.

Does it create one long file or multiple shorter clips?

The system creates a new, individual file for every sound event. It starts recording when noise is detected and closes the file once the environment has been silent for one minute, making it much easier to navigate through specific events.

Can I still use it as a real tissue dispenser?

Absolutely. The internal recording components are compact enough to allow a standard cube-sized tissue box to be inserted. This ensures the device maintains a completely normal appearance in any room.

What happens if the internal memory becomes full?

The device will stop recording once the 8GB of memory is exhausted. However, with 288 hours of storage and voice activation technology, it would take an exceptional amount of activity to fill the device before the battery required a recharge.

Is the recording sensitivity adjustable?

• Please note that a cube box of tissues is not supplied with this product. However, the holder is designed to fit standard-sized cube tissue boxes, which are readily available from all major supermarkets and retail outlets.
• To listen to your recordings, you will require a PC or Mac with working speakers or a set of headphones. If you wish to play back files directly on a smartphone or tablet, a compatible OTG (On-The-Go) adapter for your specific mobile device will be required (see our recorder accessories section).
• While the recorded MP3 files are compatible with most standard players (such as Windows Media Player or QuickTime), we highly recommend using the free VLC Media Player. This is a versatile, industry-standard tool that ensures the highest compatibility and playback quality.
• A USB mains charger (UK 3-pin) is supplied. The device can also be charged via any powered USB port on a computer or a standard 5V USB power bank.
• To ensure the time and date stamps on your files are accurate, the device must be connected to a computer to sync the internal clock before its first deployment. Simple setup files are provided for both Windows.
• We recommend performing a short test record in the intended environment. This allows you to adjust the microphone sensitivity settings to account for background noise such as air conditioning, fans, or distant traffic, ensuring the recorder only triggers when it hears speech.
