As a result, standby time is greatly increased, allowing the Ultimate to remain in voice-activated mode for up to 31 days. When used in continuous recording mode, the battery lasts up to 16 hours. Additionally, unlike most other classic-style recorders that rely on replaceable batteries, the Ultimate features a built-in lithium polymer rechargeable battery, eliminating the cost and inconvenience of battery replacements.

Do the recordings have a time and date stamp running throughout the recording?

Each recorded file is stamped with the time and date. Continuous time and date display within the recording itself would require either an audio announcement or a specialised playback console. However, the time and date stamp on each file is sufficient for most evidential purposes.

Will the recorder still record if it is hidden out of sight?

Yes, the recorder can capture sound even when concealed. However, heavy muffling, such as with thick cloth, may reduce microphone effectiveness. For situations requiring discreet placement of the recorder, we offer an external covert wired microphone.

How are the recordings be played back?

Recordings can be played back through earphones connected to the unit, the device’s built-in speaker, or computer speakers when the device is connected to a computer.

Can I use this as a telephone recorder as well as a stand-alone audio recording device?

This product does include a telephone handset recording adapter that allows you to record calls. However, we do offer more covert voice recording solutions in our Landline Recorders section of the website .

Can I swap the rechargeable battery for a standard type of alkaline battery?

The lithium-ion battery is integrated into the device and is not interchangeable. This design choice eliminates the need for frequent battery replacements.

You will need to consider the following to use this equipment:

• Although the device has a rechargeable internal battery with superb standby time in voice activation mode, we can, as a cost option, supply a USB to mains power adapter. Please see the drop-down menu.
• If you wish to place this recorder out of plain sight, then it may be worth considering the optional ‘covert’ wired microphone. The ‘covert’ microphone simply plugs into the 3.5 mm microphone input of the Ultimate and can be positioned up to one meter away from the recorder. If you need a longer wire then you should contact Spy Equipment Uk beforehand to discuss your requirements.
• The recorder has an inbuilt speaker and is supplied with a set of earphones, however, should you require, the Voice Recorder Ultimate can also be connected to a computer using the included USB cable.
• To offload and play back recordings on your smart device, you will need an On-The-Go cable, available in our Recorder Accessories sub-category.
