The first microphone automatically activates recording when it detects sound, while the second captures crystal-clear speech from up to 8 meters away. Powered by a rechargeable 5600 mAh lithium battery, this device offers long-term deployment without needing a constant power source (up to 7 months standby). For permanent use, you also have the option to connect it to an external power supply.

Setting up and using this device is simple, just like our other WiFi listening products. You can control all its functions remotely using our free smartphone app, which you can download from either the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Wi-Fi Connectivity with Remote Smartphone Control

The device is engineered for reliable connectivity, operating on the standard 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. This frequency is widely supported by modern routers, ensuring compatibility even if your router also offers other options like 5GHz. Getting started is simple. First, ensure your smartphone is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network that you want the device to join. The app then uses Bluetooth to connect your phone to the device, completing the setup. After this one-time process, you’ll be able to remotely monitor and control the device from anywhere in the world that your phone has an Internet connection. It should be noted that the device’s SSID (WiFi network name) is hidden during both setup and operation.

Other “live” listening devices require a SIM card and a strong mobile signal, which can result in inconsistent connections and costly call charges, especially when listening internationally. This device avoids these issues by using Wi-Fi, which provides a more reliable connection and a higher degree of remote control.

Voice Activated Recording – Real Time Alerts

This sophisticated listening device features an automated voice-activated recording system that you can easily customize. You can adjust the microphone sensitivity to match the room’s ambient noise and set recording file lengths from 1 to 30 minutes. The included 32GB memory card offers up to 40 days of recording capacity, with the option to upgrade to a larger SD card. You can also enable a setting for overwriting older recordings once the memory is full.
Stay informed with instant notifications that alert you when a sound-activated recording starts, giving you the option to listen in live. The app also makes it simple to download recordings to your smartphone, and you have complete control to remotely delete files or format the device’s memory whenever you need to.

Are there any outward features that would attract any unwanted attention?

No, the technology is completely hidden. All the Wi-Fi and recording components are concealed within the device, and a discreet, detachable base covers the controls and memory card slot.

If the device was connected to main supply using the charge lead, but was inadvertently unplugged, would this deactivate the listen and record function?

The device’s internal rechargeable battery allows it to continue operating even when disconnected from a power source. The main power connection is used to charge the battery, but the device’s functions, including listening and recording, will continue as long as the battery has a charge.

If the device was hidden away in a cupboard then how well would it pick up sound?

For optimal performance, the device should be placed in an open area where the air cleaner can be clearly seen. This allows the microphone to capture audio most effectively. In a quiet, open room, it can easily pick up speech from up to 8 meters away. If the device is hidden in a cupboard or drawer, its listening range will be reduced depending on how well it’s concealed.

Does the dark front panel light up with any information?

No. Although this looks like an LCD smoked glass display panel, it is simply to give the effect of a functional air cleaner.
